Yeah I didn't think it was a word either, but it apparently is since my professor wrote it all over my last paper I turned in for my nursing research class.
Ackward? You want to know what's ackward? Your professor saying the swine flu is the H1N2 virus. Are you in the same profession I'm going into? No wonder I don't really care if I turn in a less than perfect research paper. Perhaps this time when she writes "this section is hard to read", it will be in legible handwriting!

That's just sick and wrong. You should give her a pocket book dictionary for Christmas and write inside "Here's to no more'ackward' moments grading papers".
