The Thought That Counts

A few months ago I was released from my Relief Society calling as 1st counselor in the presidency.  During Relief Society, the new RS presidency sent around note cards, stamps, and addressed envelopes so that girls could write thank you notes to the old presidency.  By the time the box got to me it was practically empty.  I thought I would definitely be getting some cards in the mail.  I ended up getting 3.  One from the new RS president, one from my friend who wasn't even in the ward, and this one:

"Thank you for being our 1st counselor.  I look forward to getting to know you better before you age-out of the ward".

Bless her heart. Trying so hard to be nice, and unknowingly sliding in a jab.

I swear there's a generation gap we weren't told about. It's where all the manners and social etiquette got dropped.

I agree with your not-so-oblivious friend there. WHAT THE HECK? Your singles ward is ridiculous.
