Two Ends to Every Stick

I'm sure many of you have seen this picture. If I had seen it 10 years earlier, it would have shocked me. But now, the first thing I think is "oh that was photo-shopped". How sad! We may never know if a photo is truly amazing or funny because of advances in technology. We have all become skeptics. When I was in my photography class, I learned that 80-90% of all moons in photographs are fake. This damaged me. I can no longer look at a moon in a photo and think of its beauty. Instead the first thought in my head is "I bet that was not really there in the first place", as you will probably do now because of this post. So it is with advances in technology. It allows us to create new and wonderful things that years ago couldn't have been imagined, but it also takes away from the purity of life. It can make us efficient, but also lazy. With a phone we can communicate with someone thousands of miles away, while completely ignoring the person who is scanning our groceries. I am not anti-technology, seeing as my new best friend has become my computer; I just think it is interesting that there seems to be a good and bad side to everything.
