Great Googaley Moogaley!

I love google! I think it is very helpful, creative, and just plain entertaining. I especially enjoy the different logos they display on the home page. I am sad to say that I use the google bar on my browser much too often that I miss many of these brilliant creations. It is a tragedy, for these logos have proven to offer many things.

1. They can encourage you to learn more on your own. (My personal favorite)

Turns out that on Friday the 13th, 2009 at 3:31:30 PM (PST), UNIX time read: 1234567890. Isn't that an amazing, useless fact? I thought so! So intriguing, in fact, that I researched it more and found out that on December 22, 2282 at 21 hrs 31 min 30 sec GMT the UNIX time will be : 987654321. Good thing I found that out because I was pretty disappointed I missed that last celebration by only a few months. And it's all because of that darn google bar on my browser!

2.
They can bring more culture into your life.

Dr. Seuss was born March 2, 1904. He wrote over 60 children's books, most of which used trisyllabic meter.

Vincent Van Gogh was born was born
March 30, 1853. He was a Dutch-Post Impressionist whose best known work was done when he was suffering from metal illness.

3.
They can help you impress your Chinese boss by wishing him a Happy Dragon Boat Festival!

If you would really like to impress him it's : 愉快的龍小船節日! Be careful with the intonation. I hear they're real sticklers about that.

4. They can be a reminder of important dates (such as Valentine's Day).

Now if we could only get them to help us remember birthdays and anniversaries. Wouldn't that be something?

Oh google, what will you come up with next?

Do you remember the Snickers commercial when the guy said "Great. Googaley Moogaley."? Cause if you were referencing that, then you are my new hero.

Oh and I use IGoogle as my home page, which means I don't get the cool logos either. :( But last Thursday, Google did send me an e-mail to remind me that it was my birthday, so that's a plus.

"That's great, but who are the Chefs?" That is one of the best commercials ever!

I love google too...do you remember when we didn't have google, or even the internet. How did we ever learn about anything? We had to go to the library and read books! We were a lot more stupider then.

Cool compilation! I always thought it would be fun working on those. What holiday/day would you want to design?
