Earlier this year I bought a road bike, and have slowly been teaching myself how to bike. I’m still in the process of training my muscles - my hip flexors aren’t used to working so hard. Well I finally experienced my first injury. I say injury, but I really mean clumsy occurrence. I pulled up to intersection, unclipped one of my shoes, and stopped so I could decide which way to go. Well, don’t ask me how, but with one shoe on the ground and one still clipped in to the pedal, I lost my balance. I tried to unclip my left foot, but I couldn’t and I toppled over. It was a good thing there were only 13 cars at the intersection waiting for the light, otherwise I might have been embarrassed. I fell on my left side, but somehow the outside of my right leg was the one with the blood running down it. After 2 or 3 minutes of rolling on the ground under my bike, I was able to free my foot. I only rode 4 miles that day.

Insult and Injury

Bikes secretly scare me to death. I had a bad experience. And I guess my fear isn't so secret anymore.
I think biking has the potential for cooler-looking injuries than running does.
were you rolling around under the bike to wait and see who would come and help you? And then when they finally did you jumped up and rode away?
I'm so proud of you! Clumsy people are where it's at! ;)
