It's April - Which Means 2 Things

1. The probability of me getting a parking ticket has increased 27 fold.

2. March Madness is almost over.

I don't like being unemployed, but if I had to be without a job, I would choose for it to be during March Madness. When else could I have made this poster-sized bracket?

This year was especially crazy:

20 upsets
16 games were determined by 3 points or less
4 games in OT
Final 4 seeds were 3, 4, 8, & 11

Not only that, but I was able to go to 3 games live. All amazing.

Morehead upsetting Louisville with this play:

Richmond upsetting Vanderbilt.

And my favorite, of course, BYU crushing Gonzaga.

During this game we sat in the Gongaza fan territory. The drunk 20 year-olds sitting behind us were actually pretty funny and good losers. One even had changed his name to Jimmer (seriously, he answered to 'Jimmer' like it was nothing) and told us the perfect game would be for Jimmer to score 50 points, but still lose. We gave him our giant Jimmer head after the game. They made fun of us and of the honor code, but after we offered them donuts they changed their tune to "I love BYU! I hope they go all the way!" Then the questions came. "Are you Mormon?" "Are you married?" "You can't drink? Ever? Not even when you're 21?" "Can you drink out of a straw?" "Can you drink Red Bull? Because we'll buy you some." "How do you have fun?" "Are you going to church tomorrow?" They cheers-ed my bottled water with their glass of beer, and invited us to go party with them after the game, because "win or lose, they still booze." We declined, but were promised that they would have several drinks in our behalf. I hope they made it back to Washington in their minivan.

Good bye March 2011. It's been great.

I know the guy in the last picture. Was he in my freshman ward? Maybe. I can't remember.

Great story.
