Happy Anniversary!

5 years ago I came home from my mission. If you had asked me back then what my life would be like in 5 years, I would have probably described it looking something like this:

Married to a guy who looked like this:

And living in a house like this:

I would also have a successful photography side business. After all, I was an obedient, hard-working returned missionary. I locked my heart for 18 months. I never woke up late. I suffered through bitter cold, dog attacks, and harassment. Blessing should start pouring my way, right?

Instead, my life looks more like this:

And this:

And this:

I suppose now I should write something profound and inspiring about blessings. But honestly, most of the time I just think "Well, at least I can eat all the junk I want and not get fat."

Well, it is true...at least you can eat whatever you want and not get fat. And if it makes you feel any better, you were the BEST rooommate I ever had and those stupid guys out there don't know what a wonderful catch you are!

I've been home from my mission for 10 years this year and there are days I feel exactly like your pictures. Hang in there. You're wonderful and will be given everything you have been promised.
