My friend called me up and asked if I wanted to go golfing. Uh, yeah! So she said we were going with her friend Ben, and his friend Luke. It was a gorgeous autumn day, on the chilly side, and I was way excited to go. I hadn't been real golfing since before the mission. I became even more excited to play when my first hit went 200 yds straight to the hole! Not bad. The rest of the time was really fun. The boys we were with were really nice and really entertaining. When they got mad, they would be funny about it instead of being mean or jerky. I especially liked Luke. He had my sense of humor and we were joking around and laughing the whole time.
And then it came. Luke said, "So my my wife is in California right now and ...." Let's be honest, I couldn't tell you the rest of the sentence if my life depended on it. Of course he was married! It's just funny. It was really refreshing to spend time with genuinely nice boys though. Makes me that much more optimistic that there are more out there to meet. But the real important thing that I learned today was that I need to get a job that pays well so that I'll be able to support my new golfing hobby.

ha ha ha! It reminds me of that Alanis Morisette song...IRONIC. "It's like meeting the guy of your dreams and then meeting his beautiful wife!"
